Auditing typically starts with verification of Compliance to verify whether external and internal regulations are met. Although this process is very important, it is mostly a ’paper exercise’ not requiring auditors with large technical background or field experience. Scrutiny at desktop level is usually time consuming, creating time constraints for the equally necessary walk-throughs and field-interviews.
