TENAGA Expo & Forum 2014
For the first time Global Risk Experts Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd participated this year in the TENAGA Expo & Forum, which claims to be “Southeast Asia’s Premier Power & Electrical Industry Show”. The 2014 edition was set to welcome over 12,000 industry players and professionals from 50 countries – and this goal obviously has been achieved.
Considering the nature of the Expo & Forum the subject of our efforts focused on Electrical Safety with specific aim at Arc Flash & Electric Shock Studies of industrial and commercial sites. Although internationally acknowledged to be state-of-the-art, Arc Flash Studies in Asia Pacific are mostly still being disregarded in industrial and commercial environments. However, a change of attitude is clearly on the horizon as Arc Flash plays more and more a prominent, even a dominant role in the discussion on how to improve Electrical Safety. This trend was positively reconfirmed by many visitors and the lively discussion we had at the booth of Global Risk Experts with officers of various governmental bodies and agencies, project and utility managers, persons responsible for maintenance, purchase and sales, and – last not least - the many representatives of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) functions.
Although in the context of the Expo & Forum with its prominent display of hardware solutions, our more software centric approach as a consulting company offering engineering services in Electrical Safety and the larger Risk Management area was well received, appreciated, and positively recognized.
Work on follow-up activities has started, picking up on the discussions that were not finished during the expo, providing further information, answering open questions, arranging meetings at prospective customer sites, and simply completing promises that were made.
It is still too early to quantify the success of our participation. We are confident financially it will be positive once all numbers have been added, justifying the time, expense, and efforts of our staff. We are looking forward to show our banner at the TENAGA Expo & Forum 2016.
